Assignment 9: Classmate Blog Critique

 Classmate Blog Critique

One of the best parts about being a Mass Communication major is the opportunity I have every single day to surround myself with the most creative and thoughtful minds. Over the past year, I have had the chance to learn from my peers and gain a new perspective based on their unique individuality and creativity.

Each of my classmates pours out a personable and aesthetic blog that is specific to their personality and interests. Although each of my classmates has exceptional blogs, I will be talking about one of my peers who I constantly look to for inspiration.

I have had the privilege in my first two years of college to attend almost every one of my classes with Gwen. Not only is she an exceptional student and peer, but she is also a sweet friend! Her insightful thoughts and unique interests are constantly displayed within every assignment completed in her blog.

One of the things I admire about Gwen is the obvious work and thoughtful dedication she presents in each of her blog posts. Whether her post is based on personal interest or educational research, Gwen writes her posts in a style that comes across as a professional yet personable blog.

Because Gwen and I have had so many classes together (and even share the same schedule this semester), I am not a stranger to her exceptional work, and because of this, it is so easy for me to analyze her blog.

Diving into the specifics of her blog, Gwen always provides a clean and professional aesthetic to her work. Before I even click on her blog posts, I am confident I will see and hear her voice flow throughout her papers.

I could talk in-depth about each of Gwen's blog posts, but I thought to save my time (and yours), I would discuss my favorite blog post of hers from this semester, which provides an exceptional example of the constant professionalism and detail provided within her personable blog posts.

In her seventh blog post of the semester, Gwen looked at binge-watching and the personal impact it has had on her life. One of the ways this post stood out to me more than the others, was her personal connection to her listed show, Outer Banks. Gwen, like always, went above and beyond to add a uniquely personal connection to her post and shared a story of a family trip to South Carolina which sparked her interest in this specific show.

Gwen included personal photos from her trip as well as similar
shots from the show itself, which gave her post a distinctive and refreshing perspective to her audience.

Like I said before, it's too easy for me to brag about Gwen. Gwen's work has always stood out to me, her wisdom and wit are constantly displayed throughout her individualistic approach to each assignment. As her peer and friend and an admirer of her work, I wanted to display her exceptional blog posts for everyone else to enjoy as well! I think Gwen is one of the most exceptional writers I've ever met, and I cannot wait to see all that she does in the future.

Because all of my classmates deserve praise and credit for the amazing hard work they have written this semester, I have included a screenshot and link to Professor Reppert's website, which provides links to each of my classmate's websites.
