Programming Trends Since Netflix's video streaming debut in  2007 , the world's programming trends have never been the same.  Netflix set the tone for every streaming platform after them , and they have since maintained a dominant position among streaming platforms. But since their debut, other platforms have developed and strengthened, creating a competitive field for streaming services.  Whenever I think of streaming I immediately think of Netflix, followed by HULU, Amazon Prime, and Disney+. The people at  USNews  and I have similar tastes and opinions, according to their  Best On-Demand Streaming Services List of 2022 .  With the constant changes within on-demand streaming services, platforms are now focusing on the newest trends for on-demand streaming to grow their program. There are more than 200 streaming services available in the world today and about half of those platforms are downloaded on my phone. Okay, that number may be an exaggeration, but the amount of time I dedicate to the few streaming services I download is a truthfully outrageous number. But in this digital age and in my specific age group, I know that I am not alone in my streaming addiction. Every day I engage in social media and streaming services, incorporating them into my daily schedule.  Beginning in the morning, depending on how much time I have before class or work, I turn over and open my eyes and TikTok almost simultaneously. I use this to wake myself up in an attempt to make myself ready for the day. I like to tell myself it helps, and I am in no position to prove myself wrong.  My time spent on TikTok rounds out to a daily average of 59 minutes each day (according to my Screen Time).
